Sweet and Hot adds performances, gets rave reviews
Notice! Sweet and Hot is sold out for the rest of the run, and tickets to the new performances went quickly. We would like to add new dates, but our performers have other obligations. Our next production, The Lady’s Not for Burning, opens in September with a special Halloween show on closing night, October 31. We hope to see you at that show. Thank you for your interest, and we regret you weren’t able to make it to Sweet and Hot.

“Decked out in ’40s-ish style by costume designer Bill Morey, the young sextet hits precise harmonies in group numbers (musical director Steve Carson’s vocal arrangements are top-notch).” Kris Vire, TimeOut Chicago

This is the third consecutive year Fred Anzevino, co-founder and artistic director, received the Jeff Award for direction–Cabaret in 2008, Evita in 2009 and now Chess in 2010. It is the second straight year Theo Ubique won for best musical production as well as Maggie Portman for principal actress in a musical, Brenda Didier for choreography and Ryan Brewster for musical direction. They also received awards last year in those categories for Evita.
Theo Ubique led among theatre companies with its 7 awards, and Chess led among productions for its 7 awards. Brenda Didier was the only individual with multiple awards for her 2. Theo Ubique now has received a total of 25 Jeff Awards Non-Equity (formerly called Jeff Citation) since the 2000-2001 season.
